Motorhome Self Levelling System – Why I Recommend

Levelling-System-MA-VE-MAN

Running Bristol Caravans, I know how crucial it is to ensure that your motorhome or caravan is set up comfortably and securely. One of the biggest challenges I’ve seen motorhome owners face is getting their vehicle perfectly level when parked. Trying to manually level a motorhome with chocks or ramps can be frustrating and time-consuming. Uneven ground, wind rocking, and the constant shifting inside your vehicle can quickly ruin your experience. That’s where motorhome self levelling systems come in. I provide simple and effective solutions to ensure a stable and comfortable setup, so you can focus on enjoying your trip.

Hi my name is Oakleigh, back in the 2000’s when our children were young, we had a caravan and at the time I tried a few different mobile engineers to service and sort out faults. The quality and skill consistency was random, having worked in the motor industry since I was 16, I decided to open a new workshop and bring quality and customer focused concepts to the leisure vehicle sector, in 2012 Bristol Caravans was born. Today we are a team of 8, and enjoy supporting customers and their vehicles be it caravan, motorhome or campervan.
If you’re wondering whether a motorhome self levelling system is worth it, I’m here to explain why they’re a game-changer and how they can elevate your motorhome experience.

Why You Should Choose a Motorhome Self Levelling System

From my experience as a caravan and motorhome user for over 25 years, I can tell you that a motorhome levelling system can truly transform your camping experience. Here’s why it’s an absolute must-have:
No More Uneven Pitches: With a motorhome self levelling system, you don’t have to search for the perfect flat spot anymore. You can park on uneven ground and still enjoy a perfectly stable vehicle.
Enhanced Stability: After levelling your motorhome, it remains stable, even in windy conditions. The days of rocking and wobbling are over, making for a much more peaceful night.
Better Sleep: A level sleeping surface is essential for a good night’s sleep. With a motorhome self levelling system, you’ll wake up feeling refreshed and ready to explore.
Once you press the button, your motorhome is automatically adjusted to a level position, making the process effortless.

Electric vs. Hydraulic Motorhome Self Levelling Systems

When you’re choosing a motorhome self levelling system, you’ll have to decide between electric and hydraulic options. Each type has its advantages, and I’ll help you figure out which one works best for you, your vehicle and budget.

Electric Motorhome Self Levelling Systems:

These systems are more affordable and are perfect for moderate slopes. They’re easy to install and operate, making them a great option for lighter vehicles. However, they don’t lift the wheels off the ground, so they’re better suited for less challenging terrains, ideal for club sites where you want your motorhome to be a stable platform that doesn’t rock.

Hydraulic Motorhome Self Levelling Systems:

If you need more lifting power, hydraulic systems are the way to go. These systems can lift your motorhome higher, even raising the wheels off the ground. They’re ideal for steeper slopes and heavy-duty use, providing superior stability.

No matter what kind of motorhome self levelling system you’re looking for, I can help you choose the perfect one for your needs.

How Do Motorhome Self Levelling Systems Work?

The way motorhome levelling systems work is simple. They either use electric legs (for electric systems) or hydraulic rams (for hydraulic systems). These components are installed under your vehicle and connected to your motorhome’s engine battery.

  • Electric Systems: The electric legs pivot, extend, and adjust the motorhome’s position by using suspension travel.
  • Hydraulic Systems: The hydraulic rams lower the feet to the ground and then lift the vehicle into a level position.
