The video highlights the window rubber seal failure, how the water ingress tracked into the vehicle and the full motorhome damp repair.
What caused the water ingress
The water ingress was caused by window seal failure, the rubber seal had hardened over time (age related), as the seal hardened it lost its ability to be squishy, which means the water flowed past the rubber to reach the internal wooden structure of the coach built body.
How you can identify damp in your motorhome?
The best way to find water ingress or damp in your motorhome or caravan is a damp report. This means its identified before you smell it or see it. Find it early, it will cost a lot less to repair. A damp report should always be included in your annual service. If you have a motohome it will be your habitation service. If your vehicle is a caravan, it will be your annual full caravan service, here is a screen shot of the damp report in this video:

How can you stop damp in your motorhome?
One answer is to keep your window rubbers soft. The best way to do this is to spray the black rubber seal periodically with silicon spray. We recommend you spray your seals three times per year, pre-seaon, mid season, post season as you are completing your winterisation process.
